Chartreuse Verte , the emblematic liqueur of the monks of the Grande-Chartreuse (Isère), made from a monastic secret more than four centuries old. A unique plant alchemy to be enjoyed as a digestif or in a cocktail.
Origin & know-how
Produced in the stills of the Carthusian monks' distillery, Chartreuse Verte is made up of more than 130 plants, herbs, flowers and roots, distilled and aged in accordance with monastic craftsmanship.
Taste profile
On the nose: a herbaceous explosion of mint, anise, and a slight hint of eucalyptus. On the palate: rich, complex, and persistent, with a long, slightly sweet and spicy finish.
Tasting tips
- To be enjoyed very cold as a digestif, or on ice.
- In cocktails: classic “Chartreuse Tonic”, “Last Word”, “Chartreuse Mule”.
- In the kitchen: a dash in lemon sorbet or chocolate mousse for a touch of herbs.
